This is so disappointing. I had real hopes that the @UKLabour would be able to see beyond the rhetoric and think flexibly about education, but this is more of the same.

Attendance itself isn't the problem. Poor attendance signals that there is a problem. You can't make that problem go away by forcing attendance.

Many of our children aren't happy at school. Until we ask why that is, then nothing will change.

I wonder if it's less that the arts are 'losing favour' with young people and more that they're not being offered? Do all schools still have music, drama etc. on offer at GCSE and A level?

Are we still having to have the same argument about the Arts being viable, life affirming and essential subjects? Because they are and it’s tiresome to keep having to fight to be heard! The Arts are essential subjects - don’t let them die #FFS

@_Zoe_Andrews Exactly the same here. She hates non uniform day anyway, then add in colours she wouldn’t normally wear but has been told she “has to” wear and it was full meltdown mode! It’s so tough, sending you love ❤️
