👀LOOK UP - OSPREY!👀

Yes- it's Osprey season here in Chichester Harbour. This juvenile was spotted by our ecologist last week around Thorney Deeps. Osprey's are "passage migrants" - they pass through in late summer/early autumn on their way south for the winter.

We have some news....🐣🦅
Two #WhiteTailedEagle chicks have fledged from a nest in England, only the 2nd time they have bred here for 240 years.
The chicks are the offspring of white-tailed eagles released by the @ForestryEngland @RoyDennisWF in 2020.

With chicks still being raised, the air at the West Hayling lagoon is busy with Common Terns, both parents & prospective parents (this site has produced fledged birds in Sept before). The @solentnative trial oyster cages are a favourite roost for some.

The terns have flown the best and it’s great news on successful fledgling this year, especially after the devastation of avian flu in 2023!
