On my latest trip to the States I visited the beautiful place Malibu. I discovered that the city has placed a ban on single-use plastic straws, stirrers and cutlery to protect their surrounding ocean and mountain life. Imagine if we took on this approach in Australia. #UoNTeach
@zoe_dean97 Thanks for sharing, I love this video and would defiantly use it in my classroom. Such a fun and engaging way to demonstrate the four R's to students.
It's important, as educators, we lead the way and demonstrate sustainable ways for our students. I have recently purchased this produce pack from Seed & Sprout after learning about the impacts of single use plastics in our environment. #UoNTeach#Sustainability
Prior to learning about the effect of single use plastics, I would be oblivious to something like this! But since than I have realised how critical it is to stop using these items. Is it necessary to have umbrella bags? Why not just have a bucket at the door? #UoNTeach
The company ‘Pottery for the Planet’ creates beautiful ceramic reusable coffee cups to help reduce single use plastics. As it is estimated that Australians waste about 1 billion disposable coffee cups each year. That’s why it is so important to invest in reusable cups. #UoNteach
@emmamurphy96 What a great way to encourage healthy eating within the school setting. This is awesome because it is also providing students with life long skills they can use in the future.
It is so important that we work together to create a sustainable future for the next generation. What are some things we could do individually to make a difference ? #UoNteach#Sustainability#SaveOurPlanet
@MGageler Instead of using single use plastic to wrap your foods in use containers instead. This is an easy cost effective switch to eliminate plastic use.
@Madi_fletch This is a great idea, not many people think about plastic toothbrushes. It would be great to demonstrate to children alternatives like the bamboo toothbrush.
40,000 people ran in the London Marathon on Sunday and many of them drank water and Lucozade from small biodegradable ‘blobs’ made of seaweed instead of plastic bottles. What a sustainable approach of eliminating single use plastics. #UoNteach#Sustainability#LondonMarathon2019
