I have signed up for self assessment as I desperately need a UTR for a job starting Monday. I applied on the 8th of April and was told my UTR would arrive in 10 days. A few days ago I received a directors form in the post to send back to HMCR.

I need to register as self employed as that’s what I am within the company. So I wouldn’t need to fill in a SA1 form. Do you recommend I restart my form again ?

@HMRCcustomers Can I ask why this Director’s questionnaire has been sent to my address? I’m not sure if I count as a director. I am a self employed employee of a larger company

Which confused me as I didn’t select the option for a Director. I am a self employed worker for a larger company. They cannot take me on unless I have a UTR (something I should’ve gotten on the 20th of April) it is now the 27th.
