As an OB-GYN currently practicing in Texas, the quality medical care I provide did not change after Texas enacted its pro-life law. Nor has the law prevented me from caring for my patients in emergencies.
Don't be fooled by misinformation.
For all those peddling the lie that prolife laws prevent doctors like me from treating miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies, try reading the laws themselves. TX’s law, like every other state, specifically says it does not apply in these situations.
@megynkelly@ErickaAndersen By “birth”, just to clarify—that means a full-term fetus at or beyond 40 weeks, which is a baby which could’ve survived outside the womb for at least 16 weeks prior to that moment.
Republicans you HAVE to start calling dems on these despicable lies about abortion. Every example they use is an example of a doctor misinterpreting the law. They never actually cite the statute that is to blame.
@JDVance initial stance on federal abortion restrictions of 15 weeks is in line with American majority opinion and the vast majority of the civilized Western world. Should stick with this perfectly reasonable approach.
A miscarriage is not an abortion. Ectopic pregnancy—not an abortion. Treating infection due to ruptured membranes with delivery—not abortion. Never heard any OBGYN say they were until there were political points to score from scaring women about already traumatic events.
This article contains the timeline on Minnesota law re children born in the course of abortions. Short version: Vance is right, Walz is wrong. https://t.co/Jwb0WA7ZAG
#AmberThurman died due to medical malpractice, not Georgia abortion law. She didn’t even have a fetus in her uterus when denied a D&C. Scaring women with miscarriage or other pregnancy complications into thinking those are abortions for political points is shameful @Tim_Walz
Read this article and distraught…a sweet mother taken from her little son, gross negligence, and most of all the pro-choice lies breeding confusion about the legality of a freaking D&C with no fetus in the uterus! Also, abortion clinic put her at risk with 9 week twins med ab.
ProPublica article claims that Georgia’s abortion law led to the tragic death of 28yo Amber Thurman. Her preventable death was related to abortion – but not as the title implies. Read this 🧵 on how physicians could have intervened to save her life…

Hey @benshapiro, any interest in a camping gear line? Asking for the pregnant lady who just got kicked out of @rei for voicing concern that the Harris/pro-abortion/pro-palestinian pins on the cashier’s vest weren’t consistent with their “all-inclusive” policy.
9 states and DC place no gestational limit on abortion. A quick Google search turns up clinics here in DC that provide abortions up to 36 and 32 weeks.
@TheAtlantic interviewed a doctor who performs 32+ week abortions, and about half his patients have healthy babies.
