@spindlypete I think get a big piece of posterboard (like the flimsy kind you can get at dollar store is fine) and paint that. Also no matter what paint a BIG area not like a 6” square. You won’t be able to tell what it looks like unless you have a big area to look at.

@queer_spice If you have any friends that make beer see if they’ll brew you special wedding beer. We had a friend who made beer for our wedding as his gift to us. (We also bought wine and got wayyyy more than we needed).

@queer_spice When I got married j crew still had wedding dresses so I got my dress for under $300. Anyways look at used or vintage dresses maybe? I know there’s some good online options for buying used dresses now.

When I had Covid recently my spouse did too (w/worse symptoms), I got to solo parent for almost a week and take care of myself and 2 kids who also got sick… luckily I didn’t have too bad of a case but when my spouse felt better I slept for the better part of several days.

@1goodtern I mean honestly, I’m pretty freaking afraid of getting Covid any more times. Maybe I am living in fear but isn’t that a rational response to something that is legitimately really freaking scary, even if a lot of folks want to pretend it’s not?

@clhubes That way it’s not like you’re creating any illusion that games don’t have rules or that everyone else will play his made up way. And also making it clear that as he gets bigger he’ll start learning rules to games and following them.

@clhubes Ok, my take as someone with elementary age kids now who are super into playing board games. It’s fine to play however he wants and not worry about him following the rules. I would remind him each time that the game has its own rules and when he’s ready to learn them he can.

@spindlypete @yourfriendpiper You can get them at the dollar store. Or goodwill. Or buy nothing. (Depending on your price point/eco consciousness level). Definitely cookie tin is the answer and then you can cushion with tissue paper for the really fragile ones.
