The number 96 has been tattooed on my wrist since 2015.
It reminds me every day that I was one of the lucky ones who came home from Hillsborough.
Today, standing in Parliament to speak as the Hillsborough Law passed was one of the proudest and most emotional moments of my life.
For the 97. For their families. For every campaigner who never gave up.
This is your legacy.

Domestic abuse rises whether England loses or wins at football.
Tackling that shouldn’t depend on the score line but the seriousness with which we take violence against women and ending the culture of misogyny that enables it.
With views like this Reform continue to show they are part of the problem not the solution.
Yesterday, Reform’s entire MSP cohort opposed the introduction of a £25 ticket cap for away football fans.
In the Hamilton by-election only a year ago, their candidate regular proposed lifting the alcohol ban at games. That mask of populist insurgency already beginning to slip.
i just can’t believe you can admit that you are a sexist and be allowed to run for elected office. so much for reform being the party “protecting women and girls”
9 years ago today, I was raped. The harm didn’t end there. The system left its mark too. Now I use that experience to push for change. It’s heavy. It stays. But I hold onto hope - because we can’t accept this as justice. It has to be better than this.
⚽️ I’ve been going to Tannadice for over 20 years. Yesterday I saw the team on the pitch for the very first time using my own eyes
I will never forget this day 🧡
Thank you @givevision
⚽️ Regardless of the result tomorrow, this device will enable me to see my own team play on the pitch at Tannadice for the very first time with my own eyes 🧡
Something I never thought would be possible in my lifetime

Today at the Second Reading of the #HillsboroughLaw, I set out why this Bill, including the vital duty of candour to ensure public officials tell the truth - matters so much to me and many others. #JFT97#HillsboroughLawNow
“There’s no way that’s the law, I can’t believe it.”
Neither could I, that’s why I fought to change it!
So pleased @AlexDaviesJones & the gov changed the law so that rapists can no longer access children conceived by their crime.
