Very excited to be joining Bloomberg News as a White House correspondent. Grateful to the wonderful people I’ve worked with at CNN over the years and thrilled to be joining Bloomberg’s stellar team starting Monday. https://t.co/3O2PoBbKge
NEW: There were *TWO* tense Trump-Netanyahu calls on Monday. It was the second where Trump tore into Bibi, demanding Israel pull back from attacks on Beirut and that Bibi should listen bc Trump had kept him out of prison (as Axios first reported).
SCOOP: The Pentagon has banned journalists from its press office, designating it a classified space. The change creates a new barrier between journalists and the public affairs officers who have traditionally answered their questions.

The official said the US does not plan to unfreeze any Iranian assets as part of the current agreement being negotiated & said any sanctions relief will depend on how Tehran complies with various provisions of the deal. More here: https://t.co/rItF7P3I0N
NEW: Senior admin official says Iran agreement is not expected to be signed today. Iran has agreed in principle to dispose of highly enriched uranium in exchange for US lifting the blockade, and US believes Iran's supreme leader has approved the broad template for the draft deal.
“A man charged a security checkpoint armed with multiple weapons and he was taken down by some very brave members of Secret Service” — Trump gives an update after gunfire broke out in the hotel where the White House correspondents’ dinner was being held
I just spoke to the President on the phone. He said Iran has agreed to an “unlimited” suspension of its nuclear program and that the US is not going to release any frozen Iranian funds.

Scoop: Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was arrested last night in California by HSI and FBI, sources told @CBSNews. He was charged with conspiracy to deprive rights. He was in LA covering the Grammy Awards. @JakeMRosen@lilialuciano@NicoleSganga and me.
For nearly a century, @washingtonpost foreign correspondents have been on the frontlines of wars, pandemics, economic crises, civil uprisings and so much more. Washington needs us. The world needs us. If you read us and need us, please watch and share.

Reporting from war zones and faraway places is invaluable, though expensive as Jeff Bezos and other media owners know. Let's hope the WaPo's foreign staff is allowed to continue to shed light on
global issues. Dismantling it means Democracy Dies in Darkness.
Correspondents like @siobhan_ogrady are the beating heart of the @washingtonpost foreign staff. They risk their lives to help us understand a complex world. That’s more important now than ever. Here’s hoping that @jeffbezos will continue to stand by them. #SaveThePost
