President Trump, "We don't do much business with Canada"
PM Mark Carney, "Canada is the largest client of the United States"
Trump fact-checked in real time 👏
While the country crumbles and families starve, these relics of empire unveil royal fan fiction in oil paint—funded by us. Charles and Camilla, playing god-king and queen in portraits no one asked for, clinging to pomp like leeches in ermine. Abolish this disgrace. #NotMyKing

The 6,5k people who cheer this FTA as some sort of crowning achievement for Starmer are seriously deluding themselves, it really is a drop in the ocean compared to what we had as members of the EU😡
Here's a comparison of why an FTA with the EU simply doesn't compare with full EU membership.👇🏻
- A Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the EU, as referenced in the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement, eliminates tariffs on goods but lacks the deep integration of full EU membership, which includes seamless access to a 450 million-person market with unified regulations.
- Full EU membership grants free movement of goods, services, capital, and people, enabling UK citizens to live and work across the EU without barriers, a feature not covered by the FTA.
- The EU Single Market, accessible through full membership, ensures harmonized standards, reducing trade friction, while the FTA requires the UK to navigate separate regulatory frameworks, increasing costs for businesses.
- UK-EU trade under full membership was worth £800 billion annually in 2024, reflecting deep economic ties, compared to the more limited scope of the FTA, which excludes areas like foreign policy and defense cooperation.
- Full membership allowed the UK to influence EU regulations directly, whereas under the FTA, the UK must comply with EU rules for market access without a seat at the decision-making table.
- The European Economic Area (EEA) option, closer to full membership, could have boosted UK GDP by 4% compared to an FTA, highlighting the economic gap between the two models.

YOU CAN’T FIGHT FARAGE BY BEING MORE LIKE FARAGE. WE’LL THROW YOU OUT IF YOU DO!
Brexit is killing us. It’s costing £100 billion a year, 4% of GDP and each family £4,300.
Farage can’t defend Brexit.
Please stop being so stupid.

"The ocean can bounce back to life," Sir David says. "If left alone it may not just recover but thrive beyond anything anyone alive has ever seen." Leaving the ocean alone requires us to stop eating fish. Easily done; it must be 30 odd years for me now… https://t.co/Qaw6KJhm0V
We must not forget the situation of the women of Afghanistan, in a situation we played a big part in making

For more than 2 decades, @BBC has been my main daily news source on global affairs. That's over.
Since the Israeli genocide in Gaza and their appalling coverage thereof, I hardly open their website any longer.

🔥 Despite Reform’s surge, the overall swing in local elections in the East of England region was towards the broad left.
Don’t let the media noise fool you.
The right didn’t advance - it fragmented. Here’s how...

Go and see Sir David Attenborough’s film OCEAN, in cinemas from 8 May. Change your plans if necessary. You must go. The film feels like a moment in history.
INDIA IS NEARLY 5,000 MILES AWAY.
THE EU IS 22 MILES AWAY.
Brexit erected trade barriers with the most successful trading bloc in the world and Brexit Labour won’t remove them. MADNESS.
Only 10% of all large fish left in global ocean
90 % all large fish including tuna, marlin, swordfish, sharks, cod are gone
5 million fish killed every minute by fishing industry
If fishing rates continue, world's fisheries will collapse by 2048.https://t.co/op9MdAywHi
Another Biafra is coming unfolding right in front of our eyes. Back then it took days for images to emerge - now they are immediate. Why is the World simply standing by?
The fact Long Covid is a chronic disease of the small blood vessels is completely unsurprising seeing as Covid itself is a vascular disease. What is surprising is that neither of these things are widely acknowledged despite the scientific evidence being absolutely crystal clear.
My latest article for @TheCanaryUK digs into the astronomical costs to taxpayers of Labour’s 12 deregulated Freeports and 74 SEZs.
