Proud to work with so many amazing female scientists @WomenScienceDay. History's woman in STEM closest to my heart is Katharine Blodgett. First woman to get a PhD in Physics from @Cambridge_Uni & inventor of Langmuir Blodgett deposition which we use all the time in Surface Chem
🎉We're celebrating @WomenScienceDay today!🎉
Looking back at some amazing scientists from across a range of different scientific fields.

@MariaEscEsc Thanks @MariaEscEsc :) that's the crazy thing about all the lockdowns, I feel like the baby has been a secret because we have been stuck at home so long! Hope you are doing well xx
Unfortunately, In the light of changes to UK government policy on coronavirus over the past 24 hours, we have decided to ramp down ISIS accelerator operations for this cycle. More:

1/25 Part 1 - Why does soap work so well on the SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus and indeed most viruses? Because it is a self-assembled nanoparticle in which the weakest link is the lipid (fatty) bilayer. A two part thread about soap, viruses and supramolecular chemistry #COVID19
Thanks for all the neutrons @ILLGrenoble and @isisneutronmuon. We couldn't do it without you & the expert help we get during beam times. This is a great example of when EASY access can help you get a paper published. We re-ran a sample due to a bad bilayer & got the paper out :)
Taken together, the results demonstrate that #neutron reflectometry studies on combined antimicrobial peptide and #DrugDelivery systems can highlight how the choice of drug delivery system affects the mechanism of #membrane interactions.
2019 #nobelprizes remind us how special last year was with #DonnaStrickland (Physics) & @francesarnold (Chemistry).
“There’s a 96% likelihood that bias against women, not underrepresentation, accounts for the gender distribution seen in the Nobel Prizes”

Already learnt so much at the GRS, so excited to see what the rest of the week will bring. Also whether or not I can build up the courage to go on the ski lift and mountain biking trails....
A long (LONG) week at @ILLGrenoble#SuperADAM with @KateyBrowning. Nothing went as intended, but I suppose that's science too 😂 we fought till the very end though and I have learned so much!! As always the #Neutron community made it all worth it 😍 see you later, ILL! ♥️
