We have been putting the feeders out on our Low Light grid in preparation for the diet enrichment; traps have gone back out ready for tomorrow’s baseline session; and loggers are in position to track mouse movement @LydiaBeckerIII@FletcherRowanne@RowanBancroft @amybpedersen
At first capture we take faeces from the mice so we can estimate worm burden and assess the microbiome. We also look for faecal cytokines as biomarkers of gut health. @ProfJudiAllen and my PhD student Beth here collecting the samples. @LydiaBeckerIII
First trapping day of the Winter season is always a bit nerve wracking as we get our first hint at how well the mice are doing. But it’s looking really good with 50 traps triggered on our first night on Low Light @LydiaBeckerIII@RowanBancroft@FletcherRowanne
