Postdoc @UC_PPFP & @NSF STEMEd at @UCIrvine, Examining Latinx student persistence in premed and STEM, cultural assets, HSIs #HigherEd#STEM#healthequity
Presente! I’m an educational researcher and ally to the #NationalLatinoPhysicianDay Oct 1st, 6% of Latinx physicians is not enough! #NLPD
We need to support all the #Latinxpremeds with their medical dreams
6% is not enough! Only 6% of U.S. physicians are Latino, though 19% of the population identifies as such. #NationalLatinoPhysicianDay calls for change—let's amplify the need for more Latino physicians and improve health outcomes. https://t.co/vB3yquPVzv #NLPD
6% of doctors in America are Latinx—that's not enough. #NationalLatinoPhysicianDay highlights the need for more Latinx physicians in the U.S. High-quality care depends on structurally, culturally & linguistically competent care delivered by #Latinx docs. https://t.co/dCOAGaqV1f
I am excited to start this academic year by sharing my research along with Kaozong Mouavangsou, join us! @UC_PPFP@UCIEducation#UCPPFP

@GlendaMFlores Findings 1) lack of Latina faculty limits Latina premedical students' social capital, 2) Latinas use their Spanish language skills to gain entry and access to resources in medicine, and 3) Latinas turn towards their peers & ethnic organizations for resources.
Hello everyone, I'm new to this space. 👋I'll be sharing my postdoc life & my research on Latinx students in premed & STEM. #HigherEd#STEM#premed
