@catladylib I used to do this during the day as well. My dentist told me to try warm compresses (like a warm washcloth) and stretching my jaw throughout the day. It worked well for me.
I've seen this piece promoted several times this week, and it's always great to see the academic voice speaking up strongly about the costs and wrong-headedness involved in academic publishing [1/12]

Finally! "...it is disappointing that senior figures at one of our leading universities are not more alive to the responsibilities and opportunities that attend the realisation of a more inclusive OA policy."
👀Well worth reading this blog post from @martin_eve & colleagues highlighting why defending the status quo re: OA & the REF will only benefit the elite: https://t.co/Jv3D3HKyj3 🔥

I guess this is a good time to mention that I started a new job at @embl as an Open Science Information Specialist.

What are your best suggestions (books, webpages, courses ...) for someone starting (and learning) scientometrics/bibliometrics?
Sometimes when people ask me for suggestions I am not sure I have the best ressources so I thought I would ask you all :)
@Nicki_SotonLib @SarahHLib Thank you so much! And thanks for being so supportive - it was much appreciated!
Having trouble keeping my eyes open this morning though 😴
Very relieved to finish the final talk. Shout out to all the kind people in the front row (@SarahHLib being one) nodding along enthusiastically. #UKSG2024
@acochran12733 To clarify, the slide was referring to the Jisc TA Review and the HE sector as a whole. Individually, KCL will not be losing £12mn from the end of block grant support for the Read & Publish deals. Hope you enjoyed the session 😊 #UKSG2024
Totally agree with @Hannah_Crago_ about making OA publishing the easiest option for academics. Hiding all the admin behind one email. I can completely relate to try to do this #UKSG2024
Due to a lack of funds... our panel fell off a cliff. But not to worry, we still have a lot to discuss! #UKSG2024
Would love to hear from anyone what they are thinking about the future of R&P deals and budgets??
Morning #UKSG2024! Excited to get the day started!
A small plea to anyone who may have a spare USB drive or know where one is?? Ours seems to have been misplaced (the presentation is safe as we have practiced good RDM ☺️)
