I saw this quote for the first time yesterday: “Someone dies in combat. At Brigade level, he’s a social security number and a status that gets tracked to Landstuhl. At Div, he’s a storyboard. At Corps, he’s a statistic. At Platoon and Company, he’s a gaping wound in the soul of 100 men. To his family, it’s the end of the world." -Jim Gourley
This shouldn’t be acceptable. This isn’t meant to be political, but Hockey Canada gets a boatload of govt funding it doesn’t need while other athletes and federations operate in poverty. We’ve hosted two Olympics and yet lack training centres in some sports. #MilanoCortina2026
UPDATE: Colorado's Rep. Joe Neguse is trending across social media after this withering exchange with Attorney General Pam Bondi today.
Here's how you strip the hide off someone without ever raising your voice:

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.
Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.
Thank you to everyone who demanded freedom for Liam. We won’t stop until all children and families are home.
This afternoon, retired Army general Stanley McChrystal, former commander of Joint Special Operations Command, spoke at the retirement ceremony hosted by @HRC for six transgender service members who were forced out under Trump’s ban.
“I shouldn’t have to be thanked for being here. First off, we shouldn’t be here. This shouldn’t be happening.”

Hi, one of Canada's veterans here. You have no fucking idea what they would think and have no right to use them as props in your little tirade. Here's a link if you'd like to serve your nation and not play armchair quarterback.

This is the Appalachian church leader who offered immediately to help the woman on TikTok that was calling churches asking for baby formula. Heritage Hope Church of God has since received over $75,000 to their food pantry. The congregation says he’s been crying all week 😭
After the Atlantic published the texts this morning, Tulsi Gabbard is confronted today on why she lied in her testimony to the Senate yesterday. She says she misremembered.

Meet Hunter - picking him up for safekeeping today was as difficult situations as they come - even for me who does outreach regularly.
Hunter's little people both require regular treatment from the Alberta Children's Hospital. His family will be on the streets come Wednesday at noon. Their rent has been raised more than $500 and the shape of this rental was the worst I have ever seen. Mold, bed bugs, wires hanging about...it didn't seem fit for anyone to live in let alone a price increase.
As I packed up Hunter to come hang with Team PFP at the Landing Pad - I had Hunter's two children crying, and begging me to ensure he gets his ear scratches at night and belly rubs.
I put on a brave face as I took Hunter and then I walked around the corner and threw up in the bushes. I am sorry Hunter's family is going through this. I am happy we can help keep Hunter safe and offer a small piece of mind for these worried parents.
I am extremely concerned that as of right now we have no committed funding for 2025. All of our grant applications have been denied. Pets aren't a priority we are told. But we are more than pets. We are a lifeline for Hunter's family and many others. This family will also receive resources and support from our Social Worker in addition to Hunter being cared for.
Please consider PFP if you have the opportunity to share our work, and initiatives with employers, potential fundraisers/donors, or if you are shopping for your pet (Check out You Thrifty Animal) or need boarding or daycare for your pet. The last 2 initiatives circulate all proceeds back to our programming.
Thank you <3
