This is really tough. I remember when @DataRepublican struck out on her own and went to Seattle for her first professional job with Amazon.
I went to visit her, and she took me to a church with a deaf congregation and a hearing pastor who used sign language. He was telling the story of Noah's ark like he was talking to 2nd graders. It was embarrassing!
I spoke with the pastor after the service and told him my daughter was raised in a Christian home and had a master's degree. She would lose interest in this very quickly. He said that many of the people in the congregation had very limited knowledge of biblical stuff and a lower comprehension level. He had nothing to offer Jennica.
We have pastors in our own family who can't offer a solution. A church can provide an interpreter, but they can't give the social interaction and personal challenges that churches need to provide because the population of deaf people is small.
You and Jennica have navigated the bridge between the hearing and deaf worlds admiralably, but I believe you're the exceptions.
Jennica has a support group with a great husband, friends, family, and @DataInterpretr but I suspect many fall through the cracks.
And the church has an untapped ministry.
If I were to debate on @piersmorgan’s show I would make Ana Kasparian look like a kitten. As hardcore as as she is, unlike me she still thinks Israel has a right to exist.
.@POTUS: President Xi would like to see a deal made. He said, 'If I can be of any help at all, I would like to be of help.' Anybody that buys that much oil has obviously got some kind of relationship, but he'd like to see the Hormuz Strait open.
