The videos, espec. Sunrise WS, were heartwarming. I loved how involved students were. Social skills, collaboration, supporting each other were so evident. No girl drama after recess, backstabbing tweets or Instagram, competing for attention, TikTok
@DiandraMackenz1@AMorrisQueensU Agreed. I actually went and did some research after that one to see what the difference was and my response about my Grade 2 teacher was the result.
@KarlyAl74072569@AMorrisQueensU Students can be taught to capture their own learning so it is not so onerous for the teacher. Teacher can add comments, ratings later.
@AMorrisQueensU@j_bitsy@katunamatata95@MsParbeeBrar I prefer for K's to be handson with activities like calendar and patterning. You could use a Smart board but what is advantage? I feel that the tactile memory and sorting pieces enhances the learning and would prefer the real thing. Same 4 interactive pocket charts. #techatschool
@AMorrisQueensU#techatschool what about supports for Spec. ED. speech to text; pic sim speech. Very useful communication. Should kindergarten students be researching animals online? Do they need to go on Epic? Maybe this brings equity to students who wouldn't have the resources they need.
@AMorrisQueensU I like the idea to some extent. We Zoomed with an author this year. No cost. Students got to ask questions about how to write a book. He showed them storyboards. He doesn't live here so this is an augmentation of my research about Jan Brett. #techatschool
@Jerrod38391448@AMorrisQueensU Wifi isn't strong enough or intermittent. Translate apps not accurate. What about cameras and videos recording learning to share with parents. Song/dance is informative using more modalities. Freshgrade (Waldorf videos taught me more than reading)#techatschool
