Is anyone using AI to support students with reading comprehension skills? We’ve been using Audio Pen, @ChatGPTapp and @canva magic pen to support recording their ideas. Curious if anyone has additional suggestions 🤞🙏🏻
lighting up the halls with words 🎄 and enjoying gingerbread drawings after comparing different versions 🍪💨 to close out the 2022 school year 🤗 happy celebrating! #wwprsd#literacy
Fluency practice this week included listening back and self assessing 🙌 Ss took ownership of their prosody & rate. They re-recorded (repeated practice) and worked to create audiobooks for peers (authentic audience) #tcrwp#readingfluency
Wordless picture books have so many possibilities — this learner worked out which vowel team combination looked right while labeling pages in “Flashlight” by Lizi Boyd
Rasheed is the star of the show this morning ! So much love and joy for a familiar character as this little learner pushes herself to read decodable texts📖🦁🤍 @TCRWP#reading#wwp
Getting to know readers as people goes a long way. Spent some time doing “reading snapshots” to capture who we are as readers and what we enjoy. Sticky notes give flexibility for students to change their mind at any moment- we are always growing & changing!
@JasonReynolds83 opening up the 100th reunion - “look up from your self importance and get into the contents of what that bag possesses.” See and value the students in front of you each and every day #tcrwp
Inspired by @hareematifkhan keynote this summer, we spent time admiring how some of the most successful people in the world are the kinds of people who embrace revisions! Inspiring writers to do the same. Welcome to our revision hall of fame!
My favorite addition to our room this year - putting a face to the author/illustrators name. We are seeing them as real people! It also helps me hold myself accountable to ensure we have a variety of authors with different backgrounds #readaloud#tcrwp#authorstudy
Nothing brings me more joy than this. Seeing young learners LOVE reading & sharing reading with friends 🥰🥰 happy day 2! (Also - they love Mabel & Rasheed more than any class yet!!) #tcrwp#readingworkshop#duallanguageimmersion
This email I just opened will be framed on my desk as we enter another pandemic school year. Relationships are the only true thing that matter at the end of the day 🥺 Have the best school year!!!! #wwprsd#dutchneckelementary
Creating broader identity maps and revising them as we move through the year. Noting personal, social, and learning identities. Using texts to learn windows and mirrors to continue revising. @ShannaBSchwartz@TCRWP#readinginstitute
Starting the year with “what are you looking forward to? What brings you joy? What are you curious about?” Instead of “what did you do this summer?” @brooke_geller working her magic again 🤍 @TCRWP#readingworkshop#readinginstitute
“Getting readers to say: this reading thing is my kind of thing. It fits me.” Requires Ts and Ss to come together and figure out commonalities that have made any great reading experiences happen EVERY time. @LucyCalkins@TCRWP#readinginstitute#tcrwp#readingworkshop
