Just checked out the Pelican River rock arch rapids project the DNR completed last summer after removing the dam. It allows for more natural river flow, fish passage, & recreation opportunities. Lookin’ great!
Together w/federal, state, tribal, local partners, MNDNR & MN Land Trust are working together to restore fish & wildlife habitat at Perch Lake, part of greater effort to mitigate historic impacts to St Louis River. Funding from OHF & GLRI.

Appreciated the opportunity to speak at MN Lakes and Rivers’ “Water Connects Us All” event at St Anthony Falls. All attending are water stewards & partners in protecting and preserving MN waters for the many benefits they provide.
Fortunate to have Gov Walz & Lt Gov Flanagan visit Lake Phalen to learn more about DNRs efforts to prevent aquatic invasive species including zebra mussel detecting K9s & watercraft decon stations. Partnerships w/many orgs key to making MN a national leader in AIS work.
