@EricSpinetti That is so flipping cool! I have been playing with the app since I saw this and my science doesn't seem to come out quite as pretty, but I guess nether did my research ๐
Is it writer's block or just an inability to focus? Either way I've only managed to successfully finish one sentence this morning #dissertation#writing#MondayMorning

I do miss the days of summer break and having an end in sight for projects! Sunburn was much easier to cope with than burnout. #PhDlife#AcademicMentalHealth
I am mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted from this past academic year and yet many of us graduate students don't have a definitive "end of the semester." We are still working to meet research and department deadlines, long after the undergraduates are free.
@PhD_Genie@OpenAcademics Currently, as a PhD candidate, YES! When I introduce myself, I am a PhD student & mom. It consumes so much of my life that I see it as a big part of who I am. Hopefully, someday soon, I will look back and be able to see it as more of an experience.
@AuzeenMendoza @Momademia I have two, one we adopted during the 1st year of my PhD and the other at the end of my 4th year. We both want more, but I have decided that I at least need the ok to write up my thesis before I try again. Being pregnant and pulling crazy hours in the lab do not work.
Our first speaker for 2021 #VAIOrigins@VAInstitute is Dr. Douglas Hanahan. Famous for his paper โThe Hallmarks of Cancerโ, he is currently Director of the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research @EPFL_en in Switzerland, where he studies organ-specific #cancer models.
You know your an #AcademicMom when your multitasking is feeding the baby with one hand and aligning #DNA sequences with the other, all while hoping you don't get oatmeal all over the computer. #WomeninSTEM#PhDlife#PhDMomlife

Hear me out. The Office but โThe Labโ series. With all the ridiculous academia stories, we could write 10 seasons in no time for @NetflixFilm
