I am honored to officially join as the first #Somali youth MP in the @East African Youth Parliament under the East African Legislative Assembly Serving a two-year term This is a proud moment for me, for Somali youth, and for our entire community.
This parliament is where the real work for youth happens where voices are heard, ideas are shared, and policies are shaped. I look forward to supporting and advocating for the interests of all East African youth, while ensuring Somali youth have a strong voice in every discussion.
We It is especially meaningful to take a seat in this youth parliament, as Somalia itself has not yet taken its place in the East African Legislative Assembly. This is a chance to ensure that Somali perspectives are represented on this regional platform.

I am happy to join this annual conference and can’t wait to present one of my articles. It’s an incredible opportunity to contribute to the conversations shaping Somali women’s leadership in #HigherEducation education, research, and academia.
I was delighted to participate in the East African Community #EAC Conference CEO Roundtable, a side event of @Conferenceeacon#EACON where the EAC Secretariat, government officials, member states, investors, academia, and other key stakeholders came together to explore pathways for regional growth and integration.
During the discussions, I highlighted Somalis journey toward full integration within the EAC, with a particular focus on economic inclusion and cooperation.
I reflected on the history of Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and the shared vision of the EAC, underscoring the need for stronger collaboration, collective action, and recognizing the pivotal role of the EAC in advancing peace, trade, and sustainable regional development.
I also brought attention to the barriers Somali citizens face during cross-border travel and shared practical solutions to foster a more inclusive, accessible, and economically connected East African region.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and to the organizers for creating such an inspiring platform to promote regional unity and socioeconomic transformation across East Africa. #EACON2025
It was a privilege to introduce myself and engage in a meaningful conversation with Hon. Joseph Ntakirutimana. @jumuiya , Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly. Our discussion focused on the challenges faced by #Somali youth and the importance of their active participation in East #african regional integration.
I sincerely appreciate his warm reception and commend his continued efforts in fostering collaboration and unity among East African parliaments.
Inaan noqdo xubin ka tirsan Baarlamaanka Dhalinyarada Bariga Afrika ma ahayn arrin sahlan. Kadib 8 sano, waxaan noqday Soomaaligii ugu horreeyay ee halkaas tagay, anigoo xal u helay caqabadihii dhalinyarada somalida ka haystay dal-ku-galka dalalka Bariga Afrika, mushkiladdaasna aniga laftayda aan la kulmay.
Markii aan soo galay Baarlamaanka, waxaa la iigu hambalyeeyay adkaysigayga, waxaana i bogaadiyay dhammaan madaxda iyo cid kasta oo halkaasi joogtay.
Becoming a member of the East African Youth Parliament was not an easy journey. After eight years, I became the first Somali to take part, finding solutions to the challenges Somali youth were facing in obtaining visas to East African countries challenges that I myself had also experienced.
When I joined the Parliament, I was congratulated for my resilience and commended by all the leaders and participants present. This achievement was made possible through patience, determination, and perseverance.#Somali #Tanzania
Wow, When Somali girls were sidelined in domestic politics, they transcended boundaries and are now showcasing their talents and abilities.

I am happy to support this motion as a member of parliament because adopting a unified East African curriculum is vital for strengthening regional integration, improving the quality of education, and ensuring our students gain skills that are competitive both within #EastAfrica and globally. This curriculum will promote shared values, cultural understanding, and academic mobility across member states, laying the foundation for a more connected and prosperous region.
Hon. Kahun Osman (Somalia) advocated for establishing a regional East African curriculum to unify education standards across member states.
Hon. Nakazi Sharifa (Uganda) Highlighted outdated curricula and low digital literacy; urged adoption of digitized, competence-based curricula like Rwanda’s model to enhance digital skills for African children.
Hon. Irene Shuma (Tanzania) Stressed the importance of nurturing creativity and skills from an early age, focusing on potential rather than just formal qualifications.
Hon. Babu (Kenya) Emphasized that education is a right, not a privilege, and called for the integration of East African education systems in line with regional market protocols.

📢 Magaalooyinka Waa Kobcayaan, Dadkuna Xaggee Bay Marayaan?
Magaalooyinka Somaliland sida Hargeysa, Burco, iyo Boorama waxay si xawli usoo kordhaya
wadooyin cusub, dhismayaal dhaadheer, iyo ganacsiyo badan ayaa soo kordhaya sannad kasta.
Laakiin su’aal muhiim ah ayaa taagan: “Where are the sidewalks?”Waxaa la dhisaa waddooyin baabuurta u gaar ah, balse dadka ku haboonayn ama lugayn karin. Sidewalks badanaa ma jiraan, ama waa jaban yihiin, ama waxaa hor taagan ganacsiyo.
Walking is not a luxury it’s a daily necessity.
In la helo meel lagu socdo oo ammaan ah waxay la xiriirtaa caafimaadka, badbaadada, iyo isku xidhka bulshada. Dadka aan baabuur haysan oo ah inta badan bulshada waxay u baahan yihiin jidad nabdoon oo ay ku socon karaan.
Talooyin iyo Wacyigelin:
1. Jidadka cusub waa in si rasmi ah loogu daraa meelaha la lugayn-karo.
2. Meelaha dadweynuhu ku nastaan waa in aan laga dhigin ganacsi gaar loo leeyahay oo kaliya laga faa’iideysto.
3. Waa in la sameeyaa wacyigelin dadka iyo maamulka ku dhiirrigelisa muhiimadda magaalooyinka la socon karo.
4.Magaalo aan dadka ku socon karin waa magaalo aan dadkeeda qiimeyn.
