@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia Teachers won't be afraid if a school is opened here, doctors won't have judgements if a hospital is started here. Media needs to take the responsibility of addressing the dehumanising taboo around these women.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia There are woman who're forced to sell their bodies. There are women bought and sold for sex. It's time the government acknowledges that and starts to involve this demographic in their governance.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia The community is treated as non-citizens and our governments have time and again failed to recognise the large numbers of women trafficked into these areas on a daily basis.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia We're hoping to resume the project at a bigger scale soon and are confident that it'll continue to be successful in offering healthy life choices to our Didis.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia We were sure that their culinary expertise would empower them to choose a life of freedom. The project successfully witness the transformation and rehabilitation of many women before we paused it during the lockdown last year.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia In the absence of work and with large looming financial uncertainty, the women depended on charitable efforts by various civil societies. The positives that came out of the situation is people wanting to support the community that had so far resided in a blind spot of sorts.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia Thankfully we have not come across a lot of positive cases in the community, but no random testing was done in the area for these at-risk women even though a red light area could be a super spreader.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia It's difficult to imagine where Kat-Katha would be in the next few years simply because of how dynamic the work is. We hope to continue working deeply at GB Road itself and create a replicable model of change that can be echoed in red light areas across the globe.

@SnehaSpeaks3 @ACJIndia Right now they're controlled by so many variables like the owners, the pimps, the police, the societal moral standards etc. They're like a puppet in the hands of all these other entities. Our aim is to cut off the strings that bind them and enable them to get the opportunity.
