Sam Darnold just cited his father as his idol. He said he remembers his dad would wake up at 2:30 a.m. for his job as a medical gas plumber, and he would get home at 1 p.m. He'd take a brief nap on the couch, and as soon as Sam would get home from school, he'd be out in the yard playing catch with him. His dad would then take his sister to club volleyball practice and stay with her until 10 p.m. And then he'd do it all again.
