So I went offline earlier last night and this morning I woke up to so many messages in my inbox of "Is it true?" "What happened to her?" "Have you heard?". Every Filmmakers WhatsApp group was filled with "RIP" responses. And then I saw a message that devastated me and broke my heart.
"Hey Benda, news coming in from
canada is that this lady who was an actress has passed away in a hospital in Canada. She had been battling breast cancer. Just thought u should know."
I trembled as I typed this post.
Sally Elizabeth Bwamimpeke. One of the most gifted female performers I have interacted with and worked with. She was a jolly good fella. She had positive vibes every time we bumped into each other. It's a shock and saddening that you are gone Sally.
I know you put up a very good fight until the last moment.
Thank you for sharing your talent on TV, radio and stage. Your characters will live on.
I am yet to find out details which I will share.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up for our 12th KANOs Installation! You made it an evening to remember. We are deeply grateful. 🙏🏾💙

South Sudan's President Kiir has fired army chief Gen. Paul Nang and Finance Minister Salvatore Garang. Garang served only 13 days; Nang served 7 months. IN 6 YEARS, KIIR HAS SACKED 10 FINANCE MINISTERS AND 5 ARMY CHIEFS 1/3
A home is not a lodging. It is a trust.
If a man treats his house like a hotel, he must not be shocked when he is treated like a guest. Respect is reciprocal. You cannot demand honor from a door you consistently dishonor.
But let us also be careful.
Correction must not become contempt. Discipline must not become disrespect. Marriage is not a courtroom where sentences are passed in anger. It is a parliament where conduct is negotiated.
If he comes at 4:00 a.m., ask him this instead:
“Is this the standard you want our children to inherit?”
That question pierces deeper than sarcasm.
Men, hear me: Freedom without accountability is adolescence. A husband is not a bachelor with witnesses; he is a steward with responsibility.
And women, hear me: Do not weaponise your tongue. Speak to elevate the standard, not to humiliate the man.

Salva Kiir, and other presidents in his category, are an interesting demonstration of how power works. Maybe at some earlier point, his power depended on his real influence in SPLA. The question now is: In his current state, since he can’t even chase and catch a lame tortoise, how come he still controls a country? How is he still able to control coercive forces of the state to keep opponents in check?
Simple, with longevity in power, a wide network of people benefitting from the president is inevitably and strategically created. At the center of the network often is family. These will ensure that he stays, because his exit might not only mean their exit but also death, exile or imprisonment. If they can’t replace him in the current odds, they would keep such a president there at all costs, even if he loses memory that he is alive. In Kiir and Biya’s current state, I think the handlers now simply tell them: ‘Put on these clothes and we go’ (Yambala zino engoye tukutwaale). Because telling them where they’re going no longer makes sense.
Some of us have reached a stage in our lives where we don't mind being used as bad examples. We don't mind being villains, and we certainly don't mind being referred to as failures. So when you're making power-point presentations about what not to do in life or who not to be, feel free to add our names, pictures, and profiles to the slide.
In fact, if you'd like more info on what bad things we've done, please reach out, we will be happy to share in detail to help make your presentation thicker.
You see, in every movie with a hero and a villain, the hero usually rides off into the sunset with a gorgeous girl by his side. The villain often ends up dead.
But when the cameras stop rolling, make-up goes off and, the wardrobe changes, they both get paid.
This life is a movie. For the movie to be a blockbuster we must all accept and play our roles perfectly.
What am I saying? If anyone ever brands you a villain in their movie, don't fight it. Don't argue. Don't struggle to disprove them. Instead, embrace that role and play it to perfection.
Give them the blockbuster they so badly want and get yourself an award while at it.
