@RestIsPolitics I've just been listening to your thoughts on IPP sentences. It would be good to hear your thoughts on people with autism who are locked in hospitals with no end point to their sentence, no chance of parole and haven't committed any crimes https://t.co/t1kzBsTziV
My daughter has been locked up for over a year due to the failures of community support for autistic people with MHD. She has minimal support and no discharge plan. Despite this she has published this to reach out to the world. Please read, share and reply

@Andylowarousal Yes, yes and yes again. Most importantly community support requires a package of bespoke care delivered by an informed, kind, joined up team. It isn't a 'cheap' option but not more expensive than hospitalisation. It is a matter of what sort of society we want to live in.

@BBCWomansHour@mencap_charity My 20 year old daughter, living under section in the never ending labyrinth that is the UK mental health system, has written this to share her understanding of the world and start a conversation. Please look, share and reply

@JeremyH09406697 I had a phone call from a new hospital the other week to let me know as a matter of courtesy my 20 year old daughter had just been moved there. I had to Google it. Still no information about their plans for her or plans for discharge. So once again we are back to the beginning
@BBCLucyAdams@JeremyH09406697 Another terrible story. As the mother of a 20 year old autistic girl lost in the system in England struggling to get our local services to put together a plan for her discharge I can only imagine how he and his family must be feeling
Find out more about the failure of the government's #TransformingCare programme and how more than 2000 people with a #LearningDisability and/or #Autism remain locked away, often far from family and at an increased risk of abuse: https://t.co/gbcBuFlpNN 👈
It seems only media attention and the threat of legal action makes commissioners act to offer decent care and save public money - an utterly dysfunctional, broken system! https://t.co/qyQR7qxdE3
That’s why the Commissioners drag families to Court.
Top priority is Transparency Order to prohibit any discussion whatsoever.
Vulnerable children then bundled all over the Country.
Alone, hidden, frightened, neglected.
Some die behind those closed doors.
I've just spent the past hour and a half logged in to my daughter's MDT @weareaccomplish which just never happened, no contact, no messages, nothing... not following guidance on leave, 6 months no therapy, no ASD specialist. When will it end? https://t.co/sYRmKY8ZQV
This Government needs to stop saying schools should refer students with MH issues to CAHMS. There is no help from CAHMS. CAHMS is a failed service and needs immediate and systemic overhaul. I don't know why nothing is being done? @sajidjavid@wesstreeting@NHSuk@CQCpressoffice
