My grandfather was a gentleman, my father was a gentleman, and til the day I die, I will also aspire to be a gentleman. I’ve made many horrendous mistakes in my life and let many people down, but I will keep trying to uphold the values of the men whose steps I now trace. They led simpler, less complicated lives, and sometimes it’s difficult to follow their lead through the morass of modern life, but they set the standards that I strive to replicate on a daily basis. Often I fail, but I will never stop trying to be a better man in honour of these great men that I was honoured to know. I miss them both.
