17+ months. No AOR. No answers.
We were promised a faster, one-step pathway to PR. Why are 2025 Home Care Worker applications still waiting and being mixed with older programs?
We trusted the promise. We deserve fairness and faster processing. 🇨🇦

Before asking more people into canada, consider caregivers in canada, struggling with maintaining status, just because IRCC has failed to realize the crisis here.
7 years of processing? Realllyy
Do you have 7 yrs of your life planned?
So unfair!
@CitImmCanada@CitImmCanada@LenaMetlegeDiab@MarkJCarney
You say you are working on processing the files, then how come the processing time doesn’t even come down at all. Let’s not forget that most of us haven’t even received acknowledgment for our file submission. You seem working so hard!
Absolutely, no one wants to come up and support caregivers except few.
Getting same response from most of the ministers we reach out everyday, be it MP or immigration ministers of provinces.
Who really wants to take accountability for fake promises right??
@MarkJCarney
@CitImmCanada@LenaMetlegeDiab@MarkJCarney
Caregivers are losing their work permits. We have sent completed applications and haven’t even received acknowledgment yet. Please start working on our files!!! 7+ years of processing time shouldn’t even be acceptable!!!
@CitImmCanada@LenaMetlegeDiab@MarkJCarney
This is the proof from IRCC for what was promised to us, and even after 17 months of file submission, we haven’t even received an acknowledgement yet.
Please action our files, this is taking toll on our emotional, financial and mental health🙏🏼🙏🏼
@LenaMetlegeDiab@MarkJCarney@MarcMillerVM@CitImmCanada
Respectfully requesting a public policy to extend our work permits.
IRCC’s backlog is not something we created.We can’t keep paying the price for delays beyond our control.Our mental health is not collateral damage.
@LenaMetlegeDiab@MarkJCarney@CitImmCanada
Each one of us submitted completed applications, with multiple technical glitches when the portal was open for only few hours.
We thought we were lucky to get in, only to realize 17 months later, that we were not so lucky afterall!
@LenaMetlegeDiab@MarkJCarney@MarcMillerVM@CitImmCanada@CitImmCanFR
It’s hard to be pretending everything is okay while your future feels completely out of your hands.
17 months of uncertainty has taken a toll on all of us.
We need more than patience. WE NEED ANSWERS!🤷♀️
@Caregivers2025@LenaMetlegeDiab 17 months of waiting — no AOR, no answers, and no clarity.
We applied to the 2025 Home Care Worker Pilot because we were told it was a one-step pathway to permanent residence. Why are our applications now being affected by processing times from previous programs?
What does 7 years look like to you? @LenaMetlegeDiab@CitImmCanada@CitImmCanFR
For us, it’s birthdays missed, family waiting, work permits expiring, plans postponed and years spent wondering what comes next.
We were told this was a direct pathway to PR, which was all a lie!!
@LenaMetlegeDiab Can we still trust this pathway?
16 months & many of us are still waiting for an AOR. The hardest part is not knowing what awaits us at the end.
Will all this waiting lead to good news, or another reason to refuse?
This uncertainty is taking a real toll on us.
