Despite appeals from Opposition leaders, celebrities, academics and over 1,800 citizens, Wangchuk has refused to end his fast, saying the government should open a dialogue instead. The protest demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation continues to gather momentum.

On the 81st birth anniversary of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC (Posthumous), the #IndianAirForce pays tribute to his valour and supreme sacrifice.

In the 1971 War, he took on a numerically superior enemy with exceptional courage and made the supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation. For this valiant act he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra (Posthumous).
