Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer focused on providing grid flexibility controls for utilities. Making energy devices respond to the distribution grid.
Had the honor of being the guest on Wood Mackenzie Interchange Recharged podcast with Bridget Van Dorsten. We had a far-reaching discussion on AI data centers, inverter-based resources, and the missing operational coordination intelligence layer. https://t.co/WNTYw8FnsH
@JigarShahDC I see you read my paper Jigar. AI training centers are an existential theater to the stability of the grid. We need new system architectures for both data centers and ideally the grid as well.
Quoted in a Herman Trabish article on Xcel Energy's proposal to own batteries on the distribution grid and rate base them. https://t.co/5aPgRvmn5T “Utility ownership also risks the utility preferring its own resources, which distorts the market,”
@clawrence The same thing happened in PJM for the frequency market a few years ago. Merchant batteries are very hard to model in a rapidly changing market. This is why I am concentrating on C&I market where there are multiple revenue stacking opportunities that are stable.
@JigarShahDC Your so right Jigar, the admistration says they want to meet the data center load both the only way is with solar paired with storage which is is still competitive with combined cycle gas. They are failing at simple economic analysis. It was also nice talking at RE+
Had the honor to speak with Sylvia Leyva Martinez and the Interchange Recharged podcast. We covered the need to optimize the utilization of existing grid assets. https://t.co/w9TwZxJ4Qo
@evanwch The unintended consequences inherent in complex systems. Move one dial and 5 other change, necessitating another dial change causing yet more dials to move.
I got the lead quote in one of the best energy press articles written by Herman Trabish at Utility Drive. The energy transition will need to rely on load grid flexibility to achieve our goals. #EnergyTransition https://t.co/HWxD9PxlsB
My Opinion piece the "'Big, Beautiful Bill’ endangers planned factory in Lewiston — and very future it claims to champion" was published today by MaineBiz. https://t.co/Pl4mb0UzVN worth reading if you care about advanced manufacturing and jobs here in Maine.
@CleanEnergyBiz@DynamicGridAI This bill will be a catastrophe for American Manufacturing. The House and Administration think we can 'generate our way out of the energy crisis', not true. We need smart policy, controls, and distributed technologies all built in America. This bill is a catastrophe for all four.
Trump's fancy equation looks impressive, except it is actually just the trade deficit with a country divided by total imports. No analysis of actual tariffs, internal subsidies or currency manipulation factors. https://t.co/V7YUEKOUNl
@JigarShahDC The cost to upgrade our distribution to handle new renewables and electrification will be 2 (my number) to 10 Trillion over next 15 years beyond normal maintenance. VPPs are part of answer if they can respond to local constraints. VPPs actually make the system more complex.
The best comedy is hitting both sides equally and speaking to universal truths. The only way for us to heal our divides is to all talk as adults and go into a turkey induced food coma together.
