"That’s only the respectful thing to do on behalf of those hundreds of thousands of nurses who are being pushed out onto picket lines tomorrow.”
@patcullen9 tells @Channel4News ministers should come the the table to discuss #FairPayforNursing#RCNStrike
When Government Ministers claim we can't afford to give nurses a proper pay rise remember this:
The pay increase nurses are calling for would cost around £1.8 billion per year.
Scrapping the non-dom tax avoidance scheme used by the super-rich would raise £3.2 billion per year.
• The Secretary of State for Health receives £151,649. His food is subsidised; his travel, energy & parking free.
• A newly qualified nurse is on £20k- £22k pa, pay £1300pa parking, rely on food banks & pay all of their energy costs.
The Sec of State won’t discuss pay.
Due to the quickly changing situation around COVID-19 (coronavirus), it has become necessary to stop visitors to the Royal Bolton Hospital. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
