I will speak my thoughts on this to clear any misunderstandings about my stance on Valko and the current situation of Love and Deepspace.

I’m confused why is it hard for people to understand that Valko being removed is really not the issue anymore but rather the scary precedent it sets now with all future content moving forward?

If you are unhappy that he is a copy paste of other characters, that is a legitimate concern. I don’t want to be served a character that potentially is just a mashup of previous characters. But it’s hard to judge his narrative without even getting a chance to experience it.

I definitely was not very partial to his design when he was introduced, but the issue again is so much more than his physical appearance or whether he is a “copycat” and shares assets with other characters.

If they can remove a character that was already ready for launch just like that, given the fact that government intervention was called in to rectify this, who is to say that future content for pre-existing characters will not be removed or changed either?

If Valko apparently breaking into MC’s house is a danger to women, which in the trailer is from a bond story and MC obviously seems to know him and let him in with consent, then what does that mean for Sylus’s part of Long Awaited Revelry where he keeps MC in the N109 zone and forces to resonate with her against her will, or in Homecoming Wings where Caleb drugs MC to keep her in his apartment because he thought he was saving her?

Both of the character actions above have completely valid reasons why they did that to MC, but on a surface level, yes that does sound kind of messed up too, right? And if the government deems that to also potentially endanger women, then would those elements of the story also be removed or altered in the future?

Canceling Valko is opening the floodgates to potential future changes to EXISTING LI.

While I do agree more care could have been put into the way Valko was presented, for example, introduced as a cameo early on in the story and with a more varied appearance compared to other LI to set the stage before becoming an actual Li, I don’t think that simply removing him would solve the problems the game already had with communication and pacing. It seems to only be a small bandaid on a way bigger issue.

The reason why I want him back in the game is because by omitting him, we are now put into a very uncertain state where we do not know how the game will change and if it will be censored further down the line.

Will they rewrite and reset everything à la Infinity Nikki? I sure hope not. I want all LI’s stories thus far to stay intact and for their intended future stories to fit properly into the narrative without any retcon due to Valko’s absence. But is that even possible anymore without Valko?

Giving into hate rather than embracing positivity is never the right option for large corporations in this industry. That is why I am concerned for the game’s longevity as a whole.

However, from a PR perspective, I do think that silence is the right way for them to deal with this while they figure out the situation.

We will just have to see, but please know that the problem is no longer about liking Valko as a character and wanting him back in the game. It’s much bigger than that, and whatever outcome this leads to WILL affect the future of the game. I hope it does in a positive way, but we can only wait and find out.

Petition to Reconsider Valko's Cancellation

Dear Love and Deepspace Development Team,
@Love_Deepspace

First of all, thank you for listening to your community and for being willing to communicate with us so openly. We appreciate the effort and sincerity behind your letter.

However, we respectfully ask you to reconsider the decision to cancel Valko.

Many of us have been waiting for the sixth Love Interest for a very long time. From the very beginning of the game, there have been six Stellactrum colors, leading many players to believe that one day all six would become complete Love Interests. Valko's reveal wasn't just an announcement—it was the fulfillment of something we had been anticipating for a long time.

After seeing his trailer, learning about his personality, and catching glimpses of his role in the story, we became genuinely excited to meet him. We want to experience his journey, discover his story, and see how he grows alongside the other Love Interests. Please don't take that opportunity away from us.

We understand that some members of the community had concerns, and we respect that every player deserves to be heard. At the same time, we hope you will also hear the voices of those of us who were excited for Valko and wanted to welcome him into Linkon City.

We believe that the work already poured into his character by your writers, artists, animators, composers, voice actors, and developers deserves to be experienced rather than abandoned. Valko is more than just a new banner—he represents years of creativity, passion, and dedication from your team.

If necessary, we would rather wait longer for his release than lose him forever. Delaying his debut or adjusting future plans would be far easier to accept than cancelling him completely.

Please reconsider this decision. Let Valko's story be told. Let us meet the sixth Love Interest we have been waiting for, and allow Linkon City to continue growing with all of its planned characters.

They still work hard.

The amount of times Americans have told me to “stay out of the gun control debate” because I’m Australian is incredibly high, and i normally wouldn’t weigh in on this kind of thing on this platform…

But now that this has happened on home soil, and we see creatures like this trying to drive their narrative against it, I can’t help but say this:

Take your gremlin American self, and piss off with this bullshit, flimsy, damaging narrative.

Australia experienced its major, mass shooting event in 1996 and our government responded. Breeding a safer society that experienced a sharp decline in mass shootings, homicides and gun related murders IMMEDIATELY after.

Our country doesn’t need to send kids to school with Kevlar vests. Our police officers don’t need to be trigger happy at the fear that everyone they pull over is a concealed carry. I don’t need to walk the streets worried that someone is going to snap and start lighting the joint up.

Gun control in Australia worked. People have tragically died in this horrific act and that cannot be understated. My heart goes out to those were simply at Bondi, enjoying an iconic piece of Australia.

But more people would have died if they had access to magazine fed, semi automatic weapons, or if MORE guns were simply roaming the street.

So disrespectfully. Fuck off. Australians don’t want American gun policy in our country.
