@LikelyHughMann@didnsignup4dis But would you actually call an AI/robot a person?
Being treated as one, and being one, is the fundamental question we are trying to answer through our media; and we are still divided on the answer.
Is simply possessing sentience and self awareness enough to "be human"?
@DeaconJohn0 2/2
If you as the player feel nothing for her, that's your choice.
But the fact remains that the relationship between Rover and Shorekeeper spans from a time before the story in the game itself even began.
@DeaconJohn0 Because Shorekeeper never lost her memories. That's why she said what she said.
She has always been cognizant of Rover, which is why she calls them her "star", a constant in her life which she can always observe and rely on.

@LikelyHughMann@didnsignup4dis Shorekeeper raises the philosophical question on what it means to be human/a person. She's not a person like you or me, but she has sentience and self awareness.
This is a very old question that has been explored in sci-fi writing by the likes of Isaac Asmiov and Philip K. Dick.
@Saitoupcya@Inferno_s_s He is wrong.
Shorekeeper is the only character who has ever overtly confessed love for Rover. Iuno is perhaps a close second.
In general though, most characters see Rover as a close friend, or in a few other cases, a mentor.
@OpalDesuwa I'm pretty sure they're intentionally not engaging in good faith with the game
Shorekeeper's quest is almost universally loved by ever new player I've ever seen picking up WuWa for the first time.
Pretty sure this guy is just ragebaiting for engagement
@TheHugeDude You're obviously not engaging with the game in good faith to begin with
Calling the relationship between Rover and Shorekeeper "cheap" shows that you care more about ragebaiting
Almost every new player I've seen picking up WuWa genuinely enjoys her quest and storyline
@Inferno_s_s I try not to generalize, but I'm beginning to suspect Genshin players are either bored and have turned their efforts towards becoming expert ragebaiters, or just not that bright from the get go.
I can't decide which is more believable. Maybe a mix. Like an ouroboros of stupid.
