The videos of Malawians being dropped off in Johannesburg instead of their country discouraged me so much . Instead of moving forward the government keeps taking us backwards @GovernmentZA you are so evil
People talk about 50/50.
But motherhood was never 50/50.
Pregnancy wasn't 50/50.
Birth wasn't 50/50.
Breastfeeding wasn't 50/50.
The mental load wasn't 50/50.
Postpartum recovery wasn't 50/50.
The sleepless nights weren't 50/50.
The physical changes weren't 50/50.
By the time the bill arrived,
the woman already paid.
My takeaway after watching #ThePolygamist is men will always be the same no matter how much you try and that it’s better to choose yourself as early as possible as a woman..
After a certain age, your parents slowly become your children. They ask simple questions, repeat stories, and depend on your patience the way you once depended on theirs. Very few understand this role reversal. What looks like innocence or inconvenience is really time coming full circle. Don't correct them harshly. Don't rush them. Care for them the way they once protected you. This is not a burden. It is repayment.
They want the child to carry the father’s surname and legacy, but when it comes to sleepless nights, diaper changes, and postpartum mental health, it suddenly becomes "a mother’s duty alone."
