“For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.” Psalm 112:6–7
Not: he never gets bad news.
But: he doesn’t fear it.
Why? He trusts that God governs bad news for good ends.
“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14
Not with money.
Not with health.
Not with power.
But with your sovereign commitment to be for us, and do for us all that our hearts can purely desire.

Present justification secures future salvation.
The garment of Christ’s righteousness is innocence in the court and asbestos in the flame.

The eternally significant question for Trump and Biden today is not, “Was I elected?” But am I among God’s elect?
They may confirm this by humbly and joyfully exulting in Jesus Christ as their Savior and as their supreme Treasure.

To receive my words as true and trustworthy and treasure is to have the Spirit and life.
