Unfortunately I’m married to the same kind of man, how do I cope?
We glorify misery and pain as part of love. Yes, relationships are difficult. No, they shouldn’t break you down emotionally, leave you searching for breadcrumbs of affection, or have you wondering if you’re even together. Love is steady. Love is predictable.
If you had a parent that 'kept the peace' while another parent was abusive or emotionally explosive, you learn to tolerate dysfunction as love.
