A desperate cry for help sent strangers racing into action after a woman became trapped beneath a Volkswagen Beetle following an e-bike crash.

In a remarkable show of teamwork, about six bystanders joined forces to lift the car high enough to pull her to safety.

Police later praised the group as “heroes.” The woman was hospitalized and underwent surgery for a broken collarbone and other injuries.

A 2-year-old boy is dead, his mother faces murder charges, and a quiet Illinois community is reeling after police found the child unresponsive inside a Frankfort home.

Police say officers found the child Tuesday at Corie Walsh's home. He later died at a hospital, and the local FOX affiliate reports he was strangled.

Walsh, 40, faces three counts of murder. One neighbor said the circumstances immediately brought the Lindsay Clancy case to mind: "You never think it's going to hit so close to home."

🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a Nebraska police officer pointed and activated his taser at a Golden Retriever who was barking at the officer.

According to the owner, her Golden Retriever saw the police car and ran into the yard to bark at it.

The officer then pulled into the driveway to notify the owner there was a "loose dog".

Police say the Golden Retriever then "continued barking and growling near the passenger side of the patrol vehicle" and the officer needed to "protect himself" by activating his taser.

The police reiterated that the no probes were fired and the dog itself was not tased, but rather it was a protective measure for the police officer against a Golden Retriever that was "repeatedly approaching, barking, and growling..."

The owner of the dog is outraged and says the dog is friendly and even responded to verbal commands of the officer to "stay back."

The Florida woman who shot and killed 62-year-old Army veteran Bart Diguglielmo will not face charges due to Florida's "stand your ground" laws, according to the New York Post.

The Broward County state attorney’s office says the woman, Melissa Payne, acted in self-defense and is immune from prosecution.

JUST IN: Locals fear a Lindsay Clancy copycat incident has taken place in Frankfort, Illinois, after a 2-year-old child was murdered.

Police are calling the incident a "domestic-related homicide."

The child's mother was found "attempting self-harm" and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"This is just absolutely devastating, that this could be another Lindsay Clancy situation in our neighborhood, in our community," one local parent said.
