I believe in a world where mental health professionals are as accessible for life's traumas as medical doctors are for the flu.

If you also want real support, these are no good, but they aren't constricting, so there's no bulge anywhere and they're comfy as can be.
Today is Equal Pay Day. This day marks how far into the new year a woman must work to earn what their male counterpart earned the previous year.
Thatโs 73 extra days. We can and MUST do better.
Improve Tier 1 Mental Health Support!
Student-to-counselor ratios right now are 400:1 or worse. This has been normalized & is unacceptable. The resources are there & Iโm calling on states to invest in reducing these ratios because counselors & students deserve better.
@mskkeverett I live my best grad school dreams with a rotating shift of students who want to eat with me and make duty less boring. I live a waking nightmare as they talk and their spit hits my food and I have to explain why I'm not that hungry anymore๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐.
Journalists and historians are solving state crimes and government officials are getting book deals to write about the crimes they refused to solve.
This is not going to work. Journalists and historians cannot make a citizen's arrest. And government hacks can't write for shit.
@TilleryCounsels What do you mean? I went to an ACES training this week and have a burning question about how a whole generation being effected by a pandemic will shift the percentage of people with unhealthy coping skills.
Is it possible the 'original sin' women committed was dying in child birth? Seems easier to mourn property you can replace than for men to be vulnerable enough to impregnate someone they love without modern medicine.
@Theholisticpsyc How do you find closure grieving the living? Boundaries had to be drawn that resulted in a family member ghosting me, and I'm better off without them, but I feel stuck in my grief over them and the family they took with them.
@DrBradJohnson When I showed up the last day before break, sick as a dog, my boss exclaimed "in it to win it, that's what I like to see!" The sick look on my face might have hidden my disgust, but I can't know.
This morning, Ingraham High School students and the Seattle Students Union have organized a district wide walk out. The students will meet at City Hall at 11:30 to demand the City Council take $9 million from SPD to pay for 1 counselor for every 200 high schoolers in the City
@PhilipPulley@ConkEdPerspect What is this question? Genuinely, why would you expect compensation? I'm a counselor and when they pull me from my job to fill in I don't get compensation, and I have a backlog to catch up on when I'm done. It's just expected.
I think I'm really interested in informing the policies. I would love to know who I could follow or what you might know about somehow having a seat at that table. Then one-day I'll take @ecmmason 's good advice and sit down and talk to them about making it happen! #scchat
This! I haven't made a career move, but I took a decade long hiatus from working and had no local network. Twitter helped inspire and reeducate me by following what my heros were doing! #scchat
