Balls and ramps unit here we come! 1st graders practiced persevering through challenges and working cooperatively...our engineers are ready to build! #stemeducation#perseverance
The winter STEM station featured today is called Skiing Vacation. Create a human out of aluminum foil and then give it some skis. Then see how far it can go. It sounds simple but it can be quite a challenge.

Winter STEM stations: A great solution to a busy but festive week. This station is called “The Best Sled Ever”...the kids build a sled that can hold a lego and go down the hill.

Thank you to our Computer Coding Coordinator @kimxtom for the electric card making activity. It is a big hit each year! Such a fun way to practice our circuit making skills.
The winter winds are blowing in, but I think our Kindergarteners want to hold on to fall...the kids were trying to stop all the leaves from blowing away today💕
Today we focused on being thankful for nature; helping us identify and appreciate different objects in nature. It turned into mostly being thankful for bamboo sticks.
Today 1st graders collected objects from nature and then measured their mass with a balance. We’ve also used a ruler to measure length and measuring tape to measure the circumference of a tree.
Lots of gross motor, self regulation and awareness of others happening with this activity today. I kept a close eye on them as they learned how many sticks were safe to carry and how to move carefully as to not bump into someone else. They even assigned each other jobs.
Fossil day in 2nd grade! We investigated impression fossils and fossilized shark teeth today. Thank you to @GreyfieldInn for the shark teeth. I learned so much about fossils from your naturalist! Looking forward to visiting again soon!
3rd graders were busy picking up trash as part of their student led ecosystem unit project, when we got a surprise interview with our professional gardeners. We learned a lot about the native plants at our school. Thank you Sue and Julie for your time and expertise! #forestday
