Yesterday I defended and passed 🙌🏼 my dissertation defense focused on addressing the victimization needs of Indigenous college students. I am so grateful for my committee and for my mentor Dr. Kate Fox for their constant support. Excited to finally be Dr. Stanek! 🎉🎉
Selection bias occurs when respondents are non-randomly selected into a sample, leading to errors in generalization. It makes zero sense to apply the logics of randomization to qualitative research b/c the goal is not generalization.

Over the past 6 months alone, lawmakers across several states passed ICWA laws, just to ensure Native children could stay with Native families in child welfare cases.
Today we recognize and honor Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP) Awareness Day. We are proud to support the @ASU_ROVV Lab and its work focused on MMIP and reducing victimization and empowering Indigenous peoples.
