When teachers say that leaving teaching is the hardest thing they ever had to do— believe them, because it is.
Why? Because when a teacher leaves, you may see it just as someone leaving a job, but we see it as leaving something we love, and letting down students and families.
Kid scores 100% on a retest... Only given a 70%. For what possible justification do we put scores in the gradebook that do not match what a student knows?
There is no average time to learn something. Punishing students for taking longer to learn something seems archaic
