It actually increased a ton on creation since the department of education was created. Graduation rates skyrocketed but you’re right about a decade ago standardized test scores started slowly declining. Personally I think that lines up perfectly with the popularization of social media which steals a majority of attention kids have. I don’t think it will be fixed by decreasing funding so we can give tax deductions for billionaires and neither will taking food from struggling families so supporting republicans won’t help

Yes, the United States has the most progressive tax system in the world. The top 1% pay 40% of taxes, the bottom 50% pay 3% of taxes. We can make it even more progressive by zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. It’s a small amount of the total tax revenue but very meaningful to people in this group.

You should be focusing on how it’s much lower than the low number it is instead of the high number
