It is not the men you're worried about. You don't care about them. It is the women who are unmarried as a consequence because the men do not want to get married, that you're worried about.
"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."
- Nelson Mandela
That is true. I see it the way we light up when foreigners speak our local language. I see it in your reactions when I type in Yoruba. I see it when non-natives speak your language.
But that is simply about communication. You don't carry power and give somebody merely because of that as the expense of quality governance. The last Governor of Delta and the last CBN Governor are from my village and we speak same language. You don't see me celebrating or defending it. That we speak same language is irrelevant to me if your leadership has no positive impact in my life.
Sensible people do not put language bias above quality of life, because it is a sign of clinical insanity. You really think I would pick someone that speaks my language over a Yoruba or Hausa person that has my best interest at heart? Don't assume we are all foolish because you are.
Unrelated, when Dangote was facing serious spiritual attacks on the land where the oil refinery was to be built, there were said to be over 19 shrines on the site. No one could even go near it to begin construction because of the consequences.
He spent money calling Alfas and Babalawos to appease the deities, but nothing worked. He then had to invite Ooni of Ife. Ooni came to the refinery site himself, stood there and commanded that the deities should evacuate the land, he then declared that “Let the gods come and talk to me.” He performed no ritual on the land. Ever since then, they have not experienced any further attacks.
This is in the news if you doubt it, Dangote himself said it.
