if it’s not recency bias, why would anyone have a head loss over salah being ranked 4th?
you expect him to be above king kenny, gerrard and rush? because??? liverpool wasn’t founded in 2017, get over it.
this is a fair ranking!
How are you even thinking Salah tops Liverpool best players ever?? I'm not undermining his effort, but he easily comes top 3 but he's never number 1. Not because he's not deserving, but there are people who easily clears him.
I don't like when people talk about Gerrard like he's some Origi, why are you attributing Gerrard success to "carried Liverpool through tough times"
Bruh he was top 5 midfielders in the world in a world where we have the best midfielders that time. In current football, only KDB
The recent push to crown Mohamed Salah as Liverpool’s greatest ever player seems to ignore one very important thing: Liverpool did not begin in 2017.
Salah is unquestionably one of the greatest players to ever wear the shirt. He has broken records, won every major trophy available to him, and has become Liverpool’s greatest ever Premier League player. That is beyond debate.
But calling him the greatest in the club’s entire history ahead of Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, and Ian Rush requires more than incredible statistics.
Kenny Dalglish is not simply remembered for what he did on the pitch. He won six league titles, three European Cups, countless domestic honours, and later returned to manage the club. Beyond football, his leadership and compassion after the Hillsborough disaster made him the embodiment of what Liverpool Football Club stands for.He is called “King Kenny” for a reason.
Steven Gerrard carried Liverpool through one of the club’s most difficult periods . While surrounded by squads that were often nowhere near the best in England, he almost single handedly kept Liverpool competing with European elites. He delivered the Miracle of Istanbul, inspired the 2006 FA Cup final, scored in virtually every major final, rejected opportunities to leave for easier success, and devoted his prime years to Liverpool . His legacy is about far more than medals.
Ian Rush remains Liverpool’s all time leading goalscorer with 346 goals and was the focal point of one of the greatest club sides football has ever seen. He helped define Liverpool’s dominance throughout the 1980s, winning multiple league titles and European Cups while setting a scoring record that still stands decades later.
Then comes Mohamed Salah. He deserves every ounce of praise for becoming Liverpool’s greatest Premier League player, one of the club’s highest scorers, and the driving force behind the modern era under Jürgen Klopp. His place among Liverpool’s immortals is secure.
But greatness at Liverpool is measured by more than goals and assists. It is measured by the era you defined, the burden you carried, the history you helped create, your connection to the supporters, and the legacy you leave behind.
That is why Dalglish, Gerrard, and Rush have been placed ahead of Salah. It is not disrespect toward Salah. It is respect for the generations that built Liverpool into the institution it is today and him being 4th is really INCREDIBLE .
Salah has every right to be in the conversation. Whether he eventually becomes number one is a matter of opinion and like I already said previously, this list is subjective . But pretending the legends before him did not earn their place is simply rewriting history and it’s not fair.
Gerrard as a player individually is a better player of the 2 using their respective departments as a yardstick. Both for club & country... You expect me to judge a player by trophy? Lmao Valdez wasn't even top 3 keeper in any generation yet pack trophies full cabinet
@ImOliviaPatrick Maybe not 11, but I don't expect a 16 year old to tell me otherwise. He watched Salah, didn't watch Stevie G. If he says, Salah is better. That's what he watched
As someone who watched both and using various criterias I can tell you Gerrard comes out on top.
@ImOliviaPatrick If person wey no watch Origi see the way Liverpool fans put him on high pedestal, they won't know it was the few nights he led a comeback that gave him the honorary status.
@50shadesofLizie If you ever need an explanation for who Stevie G was, and him coming ahead of Salah in LFC ranking. Then you probably didn't watch him..
anyone can win the EPL btw. Elliot has an EPL, Gomez has same 2 EPL..
I've never even benefitted directly from Xeus nor know him personally but why should I be entitled to what he owns? His win = HIS same as his loss. He owes none of us jack
stop disrespecting people all in the name of chasing a banger tweet
you're likely same age with the person you called out, there's something forbidding you from making it early in your own household?
