@MMilnerPNP Thank you for sharing! Since the underlying cause of HRS is severe liver impairment, liver tx is often the best therapeutic option for HRS. Treatment plans should be developed to increase kidney function and bridge care until liver Tx (Nephrol, 2021).

In June 2011, the formulation of both products were standardized to the same concentration (160 mg per 5 mL) to reduce overdosing (Poison Control, n.d)

@AhmedQ_PNP Ahmed, you bring up a great point. A wide spectrum of conditions can cause liver disease in infants that may present only with conjugated jaundice, but an underlying time-sensitive disorder may be present – such as biliary atresia, metabolic disorders, and infections.
