I understand all this but this is supposed to be an academic article more in the vein of a research paper . To me this feels just like a journalist article opinion piece that makes more sense as a random story on Kotaku or something. No disrespect to the author, but I see very little actual research and thus my frustration, because this is a very interesting topic, but nothing presented is new to even interesting. Not trying to be rude but that's my thoughts.

While I am aware, I think, that there have been no professional biological female pros, I can imagine there have been a few females that were good enough and were turned away, or not given an opportunity, or didn't pursue an opportunity because of the barriers. Not 100% on it but by gut feeling tells me Its possible and that would be interesting to hear about.

@Gorillajones123 To add to the before point, take any athlete. Some have families, some are top of their game, do they do nothing but focus on that one thing 90% of the time? No. This is a fallacy that unless you focus on only one thing nothing can be done. This is a common trap hole for people.
