The common denominator of these 4 injuries was that below average players like Zion (twice), Pipkins, and Awosika couldn’t sustain their blocks, and as a last measure, they toss/push their assignments to the ground. The victims are the legs of nearby good players.
Note that these injuries do not happen in the opposite direction because good players like Alt or Slater hold their blocks rather than toss them to the legs of nearby players.
None of these injuries would have happened had Hortiz signed above average guards and swing tackles. That is, players that can actually do their job and hold the block one extra second.
