The judge, jury, prosecutor, and even Karmelo Anthony’s defense attorney were all paid off and conspired against Karmelo Anthony. The students who recorded the incident who testified also deleted the video, making the case even more difficult for the defense. This will be found out to be true eventually, which is serious constitutional concerns, and Karmelo Anthony should be released.
plenty of black ppl understand the importance of jury duty & participated as well. it’s actually very tacky for some of you to sit here & blame black ppl for not taking it serious when certain cases avoids selecting them
idk what type of God y’all serve but the absolute heartbreak I have for Karmelo Anthony in this moment would never make me laugh about another child being stabbed in the heart and killed.
No kid in the middle of a petty schoolyard argument turned lightweight shoving match, at a chaperoned school-event at that, genuinely expects another student would kill them right then and there in front of everyone. Especially without any punches ever being thrown.
Karmelo didn’t think he’d kill someone. Austin didn’t think he’d be killed.
This is sad all around. One boy is gone, another is stuck in a timeline of regret forever.
While Black people are out here thriving, succeeding, and building, racists are creating entire social media pages just to call us niggers. Imagine being that obsessed with people you claim to hate.
For some reason they think using that word makes them tough or powerful. It doesn't. It only exposes the hate and ignorance they carry.
They can roll back protections, spread hate, and try to make life harder for us, but one thing history has shown is that Black people continue to overcome, adapt, and succeed anyway.
We've been through worse. We'll keep thriving.
What bothers me most about Karmelo Anthony’s verdict? First-degree murder means the jury feels Karmelo viciously attacked Austin, a total stranger to him, in an intentional, deliberate rage. They’re saying that he set out to purposefully kill someone he didn’t know, over a bleacher seat, in the middle of a chaperoned high school event.
Even if the jury decided Karmelo still needed to accept some level of guilt in a life being lost — a 35-year prison sentence and a first degree murder-conviction means the jury doesn’t see this as the tragic, tragic mistake between two young teens that it is.
They’re telling us Karmelo set out to end Austin’s life on purpose and with full intent.
When in reality, I think this is a regret and heartbreak Karmelo will carry for the rest of his life
What's fucked up is they didn't even go to the same school. Karmelo got aggressed by a 100% stranger at an athletic event. Black people can't catch a fucking break dude.
