@AdamJoseph This window is not over yet and we can judge all we want once it’s over. But so far it’s been pretty tragic. Tielemans is only good signing. Santos seems like a panic buy which can be hit or miss. Squad is thin. But somehow you never seem to criticize INEOS. You raise good points

Throwing money isn’t always the answer but our midfield was just Mainoo, and we are signing decent players while our rivals are signing top players and improving already better squad.

But all I’m saying is INEOS lost on their targets and had to make up for it by being smart. He is value for money. But our midfield is too average compared to rivals.

@willjoy13 @AdamJoseph Anderson was far too costly. But Fernandes was one player club really wanted. He’d have fit us well. They were too slow with negotiations and spurs swooped in and threw money. In the end we did put a bid of 80+5. Had we moved quicker we could’ve gotten him.

Roy Keane was signed from Nottingham when they were relegated, he turned out to be one of our best midfielders. Not saying Fernandes would’ve reached those levels but it is a better signing all around.

They kept negotiating in hopes of saving 10-15 m and spurs moved in. So now they have to be smart. Good signing but not the midfield rebuild we hoped for
