The #Somaliland Ministry of Trade and Tourism participated in a specialized training program focused on the implementation and management of One-Stop Border Posts (OSBP), held in the border city of Tog-Wajaale.

The training brought together various officials and key stakeholders from both Somaliland and #Ethiopia. Discussions heavily focused on strengthening cross-border cooperation, facilitating smoother trade flows, and expediting the operations of customs and other active border agencies to promote broader regional commerce.

This program is part of an ongoing strategic effort to develop cross-border trade and foster regional economic integration. By creating a more efficient business environment that eases the movement of goods and services, the initiative aims to play a critical role in driving economic growth and expanding business opportunities for both nations.

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission/የኢትዮጵያ ሀገራዊ ምክክር ኮሚሽን (@EthioNDC) has unveiled eight national agendas that will guide the upcoming National Assembly scheduled for July 15, 2026 (Hamle 8, 2018 E.C). The agendas are based on extensive nationwide and diaspora consultations involving a large number of citizens over the past four years. The eight agendas were selected from around 2,000 issues and ideas raised during the consultation process.

6. Social & economic issues (including farmers & pastoralists)
7. Corruption & good governance
8. Peacebuilding & conflict resolution

Under these eight national agendas, a range of discussion areas has emerged. The following list presents examples of issues and themes reflecting the broader scope of topics connected to the national dialogue process.

The National Dialogue Commission says the process reflects broad public input from all regions, Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, federal institutions, and the diaspora, and calls for active participation in the upcoming national dialogue.

Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is building the new Bishoftu International Airport, located about 40 km southeast of Addis Ababa.

At 1,910 meters above sea level, the site is lower than Bole International Airport, allowing aircraft to operate more efficiently.

Once fully completed, it is expected to handle up to 110 million passengers a year, positioning it to become Africa’s largest airport.

The $12.5 billion development is widely regarded as the largest aviation infrastructure project in Africa’s history and is central to Ethiopia’s ambition of becoming a leading global aviation hub.
