The Hidden Cost of the doctors strike
This morning they have reported that 42 bodies so far have been retrieved from a burst Kijabe dam.
There was also a previous count of those who have unfortunately passed on from flooding of 49.
The problem with mismanagement of the doctor’s strike by government is that there are no obvious numbers being bandied around. There are of course more fatalities from lack of access to proper health care.
Yet none of the leaders visited hospitals, but the government has reported released 4 billion for ‘floods’. The @KenyaGovernors & @KeTreasury skipped the @KENYAPARLIAMENT - @Senate_KE meeting that was to discuss the doctors’ strike.
Haemorrhage of monies continues, but doctors, clinical officers remain at home and the government does not care.
Dear Kenyans. when leaders start valuing human life, we will be ok.
Currently Kenya is going down.

Non-doctors can never fathom what it is like to work as a doctor, there's almost no point trying to even explain. If you do a 9 to 5 you can't understand going to work on Saturday morning and not leaving until Monday night, 60 hours in total, a regular occurrence in medicine.
