@LenaBlietz Earl Campbell and Ricky Williams both support keeping the song, and it appeared most fans at the game do as well, so why would it be "odd"?
Some Texas Tour Guides have ended their nearly three-month strike after the University met their demands to remove “The Eyes of Texas” lyrics from the Admissions Welcome Center and increase their pay.

When @AlMartinezUT wrote TWO articles questioning TEOT Committee's findings, media, students, @UT_SG@thedailytexan@TexasTribune retweeted the hell out of it. Now, @JimNicar has published response, & its crickets. https://t.co/PovEOEHj0B
Why the Eyes of Texas Committee believe the origin of the song had no "racist intent"? And was the song written from scratch in one night? (No)

6. We have lots more problems w/ @AlMartinezUT new article, & hopefully will provide counters to some of the "100" points soon. We welcome @AlMartinezUT feedback to last 6 tweets.

here's my new article:
"100 Problems in The Eyes of Texas"
131 Presidents of student organizations have asked that the song be changed, plus athlete leaders, State Representatives, Court Commissioners, faculty, Longhorn Band members, etc.

5. Last problem w/ @AlMartinezUT new article: Dr. M knows media can easily spin false narratives. He wrote a book on it. In our opinion, media & other groups have spun quite a false narrative on TEOT for an entire year. Let's analyze evidence, & not fall for false narratives.
check out my New book about TRUMP & THE MEDIA!
#1 New Release in Media Studies
Agree or utterly disagree with Trump about anything, OK, but he’s right that THE MEDIA consistently lies. This book is about fake news during the 2015-16 presidential campaign.

4. 4th problem w/ @AlMartinezUT new article: Dr. M argues The Eyes remained "minstrel song" for decades, but UT Committee Report argues it transcended this very quickly. UT Band had learned it just weeks after first performance, & students sang it in a prideful way

3. Third problem w/ @AlMartinezUT new article: Dr. M argues that The Eyes was directed at making fun of black ppl. Then why did students begin singing it @ athletic events by Fall of '03? Why did students sing it @ Prather's funeral in Spring of '05?

2. Second problem w/ @AlMartinezUT new article: if I wrote article titled "550 Reasons Eyes of Texas Should be Kept," & provided 530 emails from alumni, fans, etc. arguing song should be kept, this would be weak evidence to many.

1. There are a lot of problems w/ @AlMartinezUT new article. First, it is titled "100 Problems in The Eyes of Texas." This is misleading at best, just a lie @ worst. If you read his article, it is about 12 objections to the song, & ~90 examples of groups & ppl objecting to song.
